Who Are The Orphanauts?

Imagine... four toddlers — the oldest not more than three and a half years old — orphaned on a gigantic starcraft spinning in deep space, where death can be found waiting around every high-tech corner, behind every power-pulsing panel, near every strange automated gizmo!

Imagine... four smart and desperate adults — visionaries — who have dared such a fantastic exodus to the stars in a bid to help their children escape from the grip of fascist overlords and a cruel corporate culture that has completely dominated the earth.

Imagine... the state of mind of these parents who easily ideate disaster waiting ahead somewhere along their cosmic path. Perhaps each of them experience the same premonition of their utter doom and the children being alone and helpless — all feel compelled to contribute their talents, to the best of their abilities, in the creation of a contingency protocol.

Imagine... a computer program — feverishly written, fully automated — that commands and locks the colossal starcraft towards a single objective: the safety and well-being of the toddlers.

Imagine... in the carrying out of its prime directive, the starcraft cannibalizing parts of itself to build and control a series of robots to better interact with its human payload: a nanny-bot, a doctor-bot, a cook-bot... and more!

Imagine... an almost constant onslaught from outside forces — both human and alien— desiring to possess the immense space vehicle without regard for its tiny inhabitants. Even in deepest space, the strong ever seek to take from the weak.

Imagine... the thrill and campiness of Lost In Space (TOS) mixing with the wonder and terror of Alien. Throw in a bit of The Outer Limits (TOS) and Dark Shadows (TOS) for additional atmosphere, plus a good dollop of Lovecraftian horror, and there you have it.
